A bit more about me

Tamiko Nesbitt is a Christian author who writes stories that convey the beauty, struggles, and victory of our lives. Her writing speaks to the human experience and the living, God who loves us and cares about our experiences. Through her simplistic fusion of words, Tamiko creates poetry, fables, devotionals, and other media which gives hope, encourages, and inspires God’s people along this journey called life.

Tamiko is a freelance writer and contributor for Guideposts’ devotional, Strength & Grace (for caregivers). Her poetry, flash fiction, and short stories have won awards. Although Tamiko loves to write different genres, Christian children’s short stories are her favorite. Tamiko believes that it is crucial to teach children the importance of loving God and others (Luke 10:26-27 ICB). For this reason, her short story character, Scarlet (the Scarlet Macaw parrot) will be an ongoing character in her writing repertoire.

In her spare time, Tamiko enjoys making bohemian, crystal, and sublimation jewelry, playing pickleball, roller skating, learning to use Canva, and reading. Most importantly, Tamiko loves to encourage others by sharing that God has purpose in everything and everyone has a purpose in Him.
